Darkness: Embracing the Eternal Force of Light in Our Lives

Darkness: Embracing the Eternal Force of Light in Our Lives

Sailors,
I am but a vessel being utilized by the universe to channel messages. Today I awoke and the beating task in my brain was to shed light on darkness. That is what I am here to do.

We talk a lot about darkness but what is it? Darkness is a relentless beast. It is the realm of negativity, despair and hopelessness. Darkness is at constant work to overshadow any glimmer of positivity. It is a very skilled and destructive force of nature. It has the power to consume us and send us on a downward spiral. It is unique in the way that it tailors itself to fit individual fears, trigger pain and surge an overflow of emotion from the deepest depths of our shadows. It drains us of our energy, heightens our anxiety, and distorts our perception, leaving us feeling trapped in despair with no possibility for positive change, devoid of hope. Darkness is parasitic. It feeds on the mind, body and soul easily moving from one person to the next.

When you look around, do you see people in the dark? I do. One of my greatest agonies is observing others totally lost in the dark, and oblivious to it. I have found myself in that darkness, and I am in a perpetual battle to resist it. It is not an easy beast to be up against - darkness feeds and it exists to attach itself to you. Growing more powerful with each person it consumes.

Light disrupts the cycle of darkness. Even in the deepest shadows, light has the power to shine brightly, dispelling fear, despair and negativity. Light empowers us to overcome and guides us by resilience, compassion and strength. We have the choice to be guided by and lead with light. It’s not an easy choice to choose as darkness is very persuasive, easily creeping in and taking over. Choice always exists no matter how much darkness may convince you otherwise. You have the power.

Darkness is the greatest hardship I have ever known, one that transcends lifetimes. It doesn’t die with its host, it never ends, it’s always there. But in the face of this relentless beast that underestimates light, we must remember that light is also an eternal force. I choose light. I will spread it, I will follow it, I will guide and lead with it on my path forward. I hope you do too. And most important of all, I will trust light to stay with me as I go into the dark to reach others.

Signed,
