Crum Canoe Candle Co. is on a mission to expand The Crum Canoe SOYage in hopes of spreading light near and far, in this vast sea of life. As you all know, we have made the choice to anchor down. Now, we need your help more than ever. We are looking for passionate voices to create The Crum Canoe Crew – our brand representative program that will help grow our purpose and spread light through word of mouth.
The Crum Canoe believes in the power of word of mouth. We believe in YOU, and we are in search of those who believe in us. We stand by our products, and it is our passion that peddles our canoe forward. We are looking for deckhands who are just as passionate about our products and our SOYage. Sailors who want to help us not only sell a nontoxic candle wax experience for a healthier, more sustainable tomorrow for our planet, but who want to help us shed light on mental illness for a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle for ourselves.
We recognize there are dark parts of the world that haven’t discovered the light of Crum Canoe Candle Co. We know there are hands reaching out that we can’t reach without your helping hand. Combining our energy, with the energy of our deckhands, we create our best chance at spreading light and reaching the hands, hearts, and minds of all those in search of courage, hope, healing, empowerment, and the calm, light days ahead. Together, we can navigate this sea of life, feel comfort in knowing we are not alone, and encourage one another to keep treading. WE ARE LOOKING TO FULFILL MULTIPLE OPERATIONS UPON THE CRUM CANOE CREW
DECKMATE – This is Second Mate to The Captain and I, often referred to as the Deck Officer. You are third in line of command for The Crum Canoe Crew. Your task is to oversee performance of all deckhands and have superiority in the absence of The Captain and myself.
Please Note: The Crum Canoe Crew will mostly be navigated by YOU. As The Crum Canoe Crew grows, we can add a Third Mate to help the Second Mate manage the crew.
DECKHAND – This is our crew of Sailors with the general purpose of reaching new hands and spreading the light of Crum Canoe Candle Co. Your task is to introduce our brand name, gain new sailors and generate new sales.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF THE CRUM CANOE CREW
KNOW OUR PRODUCTS!
It is important you have knowledge, belief, and experience with our products to help advise and recommend products to other potential Sailors. We want to make sure we are listening to their needs and offering a solution to their problem.
I will reeducate all deckhands on the characteristics/personality of my soy wax, troubleshooting support, how to care for OUR soy wax products, etc. so you can assist customers.

Word of mouth is everything to a small business. It is your recommendation that gives others the confidence to sail on over to see what Crum Canoe Candle Co. can offer them. Share our name, share our pictures, share our sails, share our posts, SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!
Share in spaces that SHINE Crum Canoe Candle Co. We will discuss the navigation of targeted marketing with our deckhands once we create The Crum Canoe Crew.
SPREAD LIGHT ACROSS THE WORLD WIDE WEB
We are looking to establish our brand on other media platforms. Each deckhand will have to share content across platforms. We are hoping to find deckhands who often utilize and have an active following on

• Tik-Tok
This is not a must for all deckhands, however, if this is you, I encourage you to apply.
ENGAGE IN GROUP ACTIVITY
Create thoughtful posts that get our Sailors thinking, talking, and feeling. Each deckhand will be assigned a day of the week to keep the group active and must post at least one interactive, thoughtful post. Topic ideas for this can be emotional and physical wellness, mental health improvement, coping skills, benefits of nontoxic wax, personal empowerment, moon phases, astrology, candle magick, herbal benefits, crystal properties, pets, etc.
TAKE RESPONSIBILTY
If a customer has an issue and they come to you, take responsibility on behalf of Crum Canoe Co., If you are unable to reach resolve, update the crew and direct that sailor towards me for recovery. We value the opportunity to learn. We do not make excuses.
BE COMPASSIONATE ABOUT MENTAL ILLNESS AND PASSIONATE ABOUT OVERALL WELL-BEING
It is of the upmost importance that all deckhands support Mental Illness and over-all wellbeing. We ask that you represent Crum Canoe Candle Co. with integrity, kindness, support, transparency, and the desire to navigate towards growth, healing, understanding and empowerment. We ask all deckhands to never dismiss, throw shade, or make others feel unsupported, unheard, or unwelcome. Words are powerful. Let us be mindful of how we speak and carry ourselves. Even when a problem arises, I expect every deckhand to move with grace and never make someone feel unsupported, scolded, small, or targeted.
HELP US BRAINSTORM
This is not mandatory, but two brains are better than one. You may have a line of vision we can’t see, and I would love to hear your vision. If you have any ideas for new products, new discussions, how to improve our products, our operation, etc. – I am open and eager to hear them.
I am sure there will be more, but this is baseline for how I expect The Crum Canoe Crew to carry and spread the light of Crum Canoe Candle Co.

Being a deckhand for The Crum Canoe Crew is a three-month term. Upon completion of your term, you will have the opportunity to sail back to shore, without any hard feelings, and we will have the opportunity to reevaluate the growth your performance has contributed to spreading the light of Crum Canoe Candle Co. We will reopen deckhand applications as needed on a quarterly basis. Please keep in mind this is a new program for us and The Crum Canoe Crew will continue to evolve as we navigate.
